Crystal is the CEO of the Knight Canney Group which is the second small business she created. She is passionate about the state of Maine and its people and particularly about economic opportunity for all. She was an investigative reporter for 20 years and is a national award winning journalist. She has worked on numerous successful statewide referendum campaigns as well as campaigns that elected a Governor and Maine’s first Independent U.S. Senator. She has worked in state and federal government. Besides being passionate about the state she calls home she has an intense interest in the Middle East. She was part of a congressional delegation trip that led her to the Syrian-Jordanian border.

Her work at the University of New England as its communications director led her to UNE’s campus in Tangier, Morocco and the Tangier Global Forum where she arranged for Former Senator George Mitchell to speak about Prospects for Peace in the Middle East. Crystal holds a B.S. from Emerson college.
